I have money in the queues at all these prices. If ALL of my money is not matched the trade goes down as no trade. If it goes significantly lower, I will cancel the trade if the momentum goes against it.

Back Trades

4:15 Stratford: Iolith 4/1 5.1 stop loss 6.4

That’s all I can find.

Please be aware (If you subscribe to “The inside track” you will already know). That I will not be putting up the racing trades from now. I will instead present an earlier preview video. Any selections I have backed while doing the preview I will post up while the video is loading. This will give you a chance to back them if you want to. I will not however be recording the bets like I do now. This is one of the areas that is taking up too much of my time in the evening. Like I have always said. I am not a tipster. i would rather help you to find you own trades. many of you are already doing this with excellent results. I realise that many of you will be at work and not able to do this. My apologies. Those who just want tips and don’t want to learn will probably be better off with a tipster site. There are plenty of them.

There will be no video on Monday: I am having a day off!!!!!!! Wooooohoooo

Review:
As the live show started our runner was trading at 4.3. My trade still had a small amount matched, as in the video. I cancelled the remaining stake. Unfortunately this goes down as a “no trade”. I have explained the reasons for cancelling many times. But briefly, if it now drifts (which it did) the momentum of the trade is against us. By the time my money is taken it would have drifted 7 or 8 ticks. As it proved it kept on drifting and hit over 6.

Evening Review:

A horrible day in the markets as I suspected this morning. Our first trade was looking good early on, even when the live show began it was a tick or 2 below where I had backed it. It started to drift as support came for a couple of the other runners. I soon closed as I didn’t see it going anywhere apart from drifting. It is important if you see a drift begin you don’t blindly sit there and wait for it to hit the stop loss. If someone at a bar in a pub was taking tenners out of your wallet you would stop them after the first one, not wait until it was empty before saying “Oi! Fuck off” :) I closed at 6.2 for a £10 loss.
The 2nd runner Bailey’s Concerto was much better, pretty strong all day and I closed at 4.9 for a nice £17
A small profit, but profit is profit!

Evening Review:
The first trade was a Lay on Seebright. This went against us and the tight stop loss limited the loss to only £12
The 2nd trade was a back trade on CeePeeGee. This was a nice straightforward mover and I closed at 4.1, I caught it after it bottomed out a couple of ticks below that. A nice £27 profit.
Next was Fiendish Flame. It was evident straight away this wasn’t moving. I closed for scratch – no harm done. Last up was the 5:30 Kempton and the back trade on Warbond. It turned out to be a beauty as it traded from 6.2 into below 4. I closed at 4.1 and it drifted a few ticks more to around 5. A really nice £48 profit and a daily profit of over £60.

Evening Review:

I cannot tell you how frustrated I am today, first up was Moviesta at Nottingham, in truth it didn’t do much. I closed at scratch. No harm done.

The 2nd runner was A Ladies Man at Lingfield. This drifted badly, straight past the stop loss at 5 and even hit 6!. Then  was aggressively back right in to fav and 3.6 at the off. What should have been a profit ended in a max loss.

The 3rd runner should have been a real flyer once it’s main danger Annas Arch was withdrawn. It moved in a few ticks for a small profit. A disappointing and frustrating day overall.

Video Preview: Highs and Lows

2:00 Lingfiled: Archeloa: Caught my eye but wasn’t strong enough. 7.8 into 4.8 WON
2:10 Nottingham: Elhaame: 1.62 weak out to 2.1 Stepping Ahead 5.8 into 3.5 WON
2:20 Catterick: Ridgeblade 11.5 – 8.4 (2.22 in play)
2:30 Lingfield: Custom House: 6.8 – 11. I managed to get out with a small profit before it started to drift – Qeethaara went from 4.3 into 4 WON
2:50 Catterick: Polar Kite The strongest horse in the race by far. 2.9 into 2.35 WON
3:00 Lingfield: Dark Lane: I expected this to be strong. It wasn’t 2.84 out to 3. I though Desert Strike might be the danger. 5 out to 6.8 WON
3:20 Catterick. I spoke about Glennridding being a front runner. He was taken on an never got to the front.
3:30 Lingfield: King Bertie 2.84 “An uneasy favourite” out to 4.6! Lionheart “interesting runner” 7.2 into 5.1 2nd
3:40 Nottingham. “The 2nd and 3rd fav may be pushing Sir Graham Wade out : 2.64 out to 3.4
4:20 Catterick: I talked about Hugh Taylors selections drifting. 5.9 out to 8.8 – place market followed Place SP 2.57 so very tradable.
4:30 Lingfield: Another Cocktail was the Richard Hughes runner, he had had a previous winner, my thoughts were there would be doubles and trebles rolling up on him so be aware of it. I said he was strong and could see no opposition. 1.94 into 1.58 WON. A massive move.
4:40 Nottingham Singersongwriter. I though this would stay strong 1.86 – 1,95/ But traded well below 1.86 as it went up and down several times pre race.
4:50 Catterick: Another Hugh Taylor runner Arizona John 5.4 – 9.4 Place SP 2.42
5:00 Lingfield: Refreshtheparts. Another Hughes runner – 2 winners so far 2.52 – 2.04 WON. I said Yojojo was weak. that went from 2.68 out to 2.9
5:10 Nottingham: Standing Bear 9.8 but only £400 traded drifted like it had no legs at all to 17. The “popular” jockeys were backed in. Ryan Mooores’ horse went from 3.5 into 2.84

A pretty successful day I reckon for the preview video.

GRRRRRRRRR
Didn’t get matched on Another Claret so it goes down a s a no bet. It did however hit 2.7.
The other runner as you will see in the preview video didn’t come back from it’s drift. The stop loss was hit and we lose £20

Lets have a blast through the preview video and see what we have.
2:00 Southwell Livia Drusilla 8 into 6.6 – I didn’t want to get involved did I?
2:20 Carlisle Drill Sergent 3.1 out to 4.8 – Good decision to swerve
3:!0 Pontefract: Queen Aggie 18 – the move in didn’t materialise and it drifted near the off.
3:30 Southwell: Mary’s Pet/ Hold The Pin. Mary’s Pet did drifted from 5.5 to 6.3. Hold The Pin was the strongest runner. It carried on moving in from 4.3 to 3.7 The result in the race was 1st Hold The Pin – 2md Mary’s Pet
3:40 Ponte: Marmas drifted out from 11 to 15
4:25 Carlisle: Rebel Swing 5.4 out to 6 – but I managed to get out unscathed.
4:35 Southwell Stentorion did drift. Anna’s Arch came in from 4.1 into 3.6 and won

4:05 Leicester: Greensward 11/2: 6.4  stop loss 8

4:30 Sedgefield: Favourable Fellow 11/2: 5.5 stop loss 7

That’s all the trades

Evening review:
I am really so this is a very quick review. Mrs MG has insisted I take her out tonight.
Absolute nightmare with both the trades that were matched. Unfortunately Favourable Fellow was not and it was a big mover. Typical. Apologies for the rubbish advice.
On the positive side there were a few good movers in the video preview.

The warning about Scargill proved right in the Posh Bounty trade. Wish I had listened to myself! Grrrrrr

The highlights were:
Super Duty 6.4 to 5.4
Ballymartin King traded below the 8.6 before bouncing back out.
Heyward Boy drifted badly during the live show. It was overbet and the price bounced.
Croco Bay went from 10.5 to 8.8. It won! Formulation was about where it started
Smoothtalkingrascal went off at 9.5, it drifted slightly. But it won as well.
Mists of Time 4.5 after the withdrawal of Azelle into 2.90
Exotic Man 6.6 into 4.2
Mombassa 4.2 – 3.7 – The “weak” fav High Troja came in too. 3.15 into 2.9 – it won
West End Lad 6.6 – eventually drifted slightly to 7.2 – but it won.

Shame I wasn’t trying to pick winners!

 Evening Review:

A disapointing day for the racing trades. Our first runner was in the 3:20 Taunton. Alasi did not get matched at the price I adviced. When the live show started I cancelled the trade. It subsequently drifted back up past the advised price. I think if you did (against my advice) take a lower price there would have been plenty of opportunity to take a small profit. It didn’t go far past the 6 mark. Goes down as no trade.

The 2nd runner, Star of Rohm ran in the 4:05 Lingfield. It ended up as a drifter due to the strength of other runners. Once the drift stared it quickly ran into the stop loss for a £19 loss.

We are still well in front on the week, but been a shocking last couple of days. Like I say, these trades are a long term project. I am very confident of turning a healthy profit every month.

Review of preview:

I always find in beneficial to go back over what I thought before I knew what would happen :) This helps to hone your skills. If you got it very wrong, find out why. If you got it right, do it again. That’s a good way to improve i think.

Lets blast through and see what happened.

2:10 taunton. Bach on Tow – 8.6 into 5.1 – Won

2:20 Ling. Shirataki 4.6 into 3.85 -won – Gabrials Hope 8.8 into 6.4 – 2nd

3:55 Taunton: Benbane Head. There were many non runners taking the 11 down to 6.33 . It went down as low as 5 and finished 3rd.

4:05 Ling was the Star of Rohm trade. I mentioned in the video that Hard Walnut looked like it may threaten. Well it did. It came in from  6.4 into 4.6 and won. Gutting.

5:05 taunton. This is what I said. “Benedictus caught my eye, but it has had only £600 traded on it, so you can’t take it seriously”. Hmmmmm, Perhaps I should have. It was backed from 16 into 9.8 and went on to win.

5:15 Lingfield, Shalwa. 18 mins in on the video (yawn) I gave some comprehensive reasons about this and the reasons why I didn’t put it up as a lay. well it carried on drifting from 2.1 out to 3.25. It was unplaced.

5:20 Wolves. Ice Magic was a hugh drifter from 7.6 to 16.5. Manx Missile 3.9 to 5.5. Couldn’t have been more wrong about this race.

5:35 Taunton- Dragons Den came in a couple of ticks.

Not too bad overall. I think there are a couple of good explanations buried underneath all that waffle :)

Back Trades

4:10 Wetherby: The Panama Kid: 7/1 8.4 stop loss 10.5 AMENDMENT 7.4 stop loss 9.2

5:30 Kempton: Silver Fawn 7/1 8.4 stop loss 10.5

Preview Video:

There are a couple of things so say about the first runner. After yesterdays great results my over confidence bought me straight back down to earth. I broke one of my own rules about chasing down prices. I amended the original 8.4 to 7.4. This was a mistake as it soon bounced back. However, in the end it didn’t make too much difference as the runner drifted back past our original stop anyway. One to forget, but a lesson retaught.

The 2nd runner Silver Fawn in the 5:30 at Kempton looked ok, but 10 minutes out stated to drift. The market was very thin at this point, it did rally and I managed to close at 8. There was a non runner in this race which reduced our price to 7.34 once the reduction factor had been applied. It went on to win the race in a photo, the 2nd placed horse being matched at 1.02 in play. It takes £27 off the total, but still £144 up for the week.

You may notice in the results table I have started to add the place SP. I did some back testing of the placed results since the beginning of March. Backing every selection in the Betfair place market at SP gave a profit of 21.29 points. The April total is within the Stats section in the bottom of the result. Currently + 0.28 pts. I am not recommending you back them or anything like that. But it’s worth keeping an eye on.

Kempton 5:00: Homeward Strut 8/1: 8.6 stop loss 10.5

Evening Review:

The first race was plagued with non runners. This pretty much doomed the trade. As you’ll see in the preview video not all of my bet was matched. But it goes down in the results anyway. The 3 non runners had a combined reduction factor of 31.3% – This reduced the odds on our runner to 3.71. When i got to the live shows it was 4.5. I closed at that for a loss of £17.

The second runner was interesting.3:10 exeter Quarl Ego.  Even 7 mins out it was 5.2. (see pic) My trade was cancelled, unmatched. It then drifted past the 5.9 I offered. This is why I keep going on about being on the right side of the momentum. (See preview video at 11:09 I explain this again)
It goes down as no bet.

Qualrl

The final trade was the best trade ever advised on this blog. 5:00 Kempton had Homeward Strut at 8.6. It was 6 when the on course market opened. I closed just before the off at 3.85. It was relentless. A huge £117 profit!
Gives us £171 profit just 2 days into the month.

I hope you watched the preview video, I got more right than wrong, plus a couple of real howlers! MG

Evening Review – Racing Trades

Easter Monday is the busiest racing day of the year. I am knackered! But it’s not the same as being knackered after doing a 12 hour shift in a factory or Hospital, so no moaning here.
First up was Risk in the 3:05 Plumpton. As you will see in my preview video (part 1) I have my money up in the queue at 5.3. It was not taken, except for a few quid. When I got to the live show Risk was trading at 4.3. I cancelled the trade. I have said quiet often, but am happy to repeat myself. We are momentum trading a trend with these trades. If the price drops that far, then swings around so the momentum is against us, when the trade gets taken we are in a bad place. That’s why I cancelled. It goes down as a no trade. Just as it would if it had steamed into 2.1. In fact we had a horse like that last week.

Second up was Riddlestown at Fakenham. We were on at 6. A great start to the month, as it was nicely backed into 4.1 for an ace profit (does anyone say “Ace” these days???) of £44. It won too!
Next was Huntingdons’ 3:40 and Ardmaddy. early doors was 6.8 I closed at 5.1 for a nice £33. So far so good…….

Lady MacDuff in the 4:00 at Redcar was a horse I had high hopes for, I bigged it up this morning. Backed at 8.8 (Did you spot the 10/1 on offer at a couple of bookies?) it actually went as low as 6, before bouncing. There was a non runner with a reduction factor of 3.3% reducing our price to 8.5. I could have got out at 8 but messed it up and ended up closing at scratch.

The last runner was 30 mins later in the 4:30 at Redcar. Morocco. It didn’t really move very far all day. I eneded up closing as it started to drift at 5.6 for a £5 loss.
Overall a good day with a profit of just over £70.

Video Previews – Highs and lows

I think it’s a worthwhile exercise to quickly go back and look at what I said this morning and see what actually happened. This is good practice. I have done this since I started betting seriously. What it does is refines your technique. If you think one thing and something completely different happens you need to go back and put it right so it doesn’t happen again. Of course it’s not a simple as that, but it defiantly helps. If you are doing stuff right. Do it again!

1:40 Hunt: Bee Cee Pee M around 6.4 into 5.5 hit 1.07 in play

2:20 Warwick:  Intense Feeling 2:02 into 1.6 – Won

2:30 Redcar Phoenix Clubs 8.4 – 7 – 3rd – 2.32 in play

2:35 Plumpton: No No Cardinal 6 out to 11 – got it wrong about fav too

2:40 Ubaldo Des Menhines – stayed steady

3:10 Hunt: Honest John drifted badly

3:10 Yarmouth: Cash is King was about the same

3:25 Newcastle: Avanos 9.2 drifted to 16

3:30 Redcar: Go Go Green 4.1 into 2.92 wins

4:15 Fakenham: Snake Charmer 9.2 – 10.5

4:45 Fakenham -Flaming george 4.1 into 2.68  – I did say “forget it the volume is too low” – bugger

5:10 5.10 yarmouth  Sehnsuct  4.6 – 4.2

A bit patchy a few lemons and a few nice moves

Hope you all had a good day : MG
